I’m down at the boat this weekend, scraping the paint off the bottom of Shearwater so we can repaint it. The outside temp this morning was 29 degrees. I didn’t think it was supposed to be that cold last night, but there it is.
Two things of note:
- When the temp is that low, there will be frost on the deck, even when on the hard.
- Even though all birds around the boatyard are hollering about it being spring, it really isn’t until the ospreys blow into town and begin catching aquatic critters. Rockfish season heralds the official beginning of spring around here, and everyone is waiting anxiously for April 21, for the opener.
