Lockheed SR-71 at the Udvar-Hazy Center– Chantilly, Virginia (November 2004) Canon 20D + 16-35/2.8L
Angle works nicely.
Me gusta esa linea aerodinámica, es un avión precioso.
Its good to have a driver for this type of sled. Well, I do see the sled though
One of my favorite planes. Apparently it just leaked fuel like crazy until it was in the air and the titanium skin would swell shut. Then they’d have to refuel. Also, the standard procedure for evading a missile was to just out-accelerate it. Crazy design.
There’s a wonderful book called “Sled Driver,” by Brian Shul, who used to fly the SR-71. A good read. Every time I see one of those airplanes in person I am stunned with awe.

Superbly photographed, I love the angle, and the folk in just the right position.
