Very true. I think that was the whole point of the entire building, which was completely constructed in just 14 months.

Indeed it is. We were stunned when we walked off the elevator into that lavish expanse.
Reminds me of kings and queens and palaces. It’s an unusual structure for US. Still the beauty is undeniable.
Ummm, there are others that are equal or more — the US Capitol building and the US Library of Congress are pretty fancy. However, once you get into private or commercial spaces, the sky is the limit.

I was here a few years ago and was thoroughly impressed. The art deco capitol in Nebraska is even nicer!
