If you’re far enough south, you may want to wait. That heat wave in another day or two can do a lot of the work for you. On the other hand, if the temps won’t be going much above freezing for the next week or so, get started. We’ve had a bit under a half-foot in the past week, and it’s pretty much stayed in place.

Nope. We’re smack in the middle of Maryland and won’t see temperatures warm enough to do much to the snow before Monday. Cindy is supposed to leave for a conference at the beginning of the week, so I have to get the driveway clear.

I think it’s the longest driveway in the neighborhood — around 80-feet or so. And the only pain-killer I’m allowed is Tylenol, so heating pads are my best friends…

And get the vehicle destroyed by the plows? No thanks! We have a garage that we actually park our cars in, rather than use as second attic. A few neighbors parked at the end of their driveways; we’ll see how bad the damage was this morning.

are you KIDDING ME?!?! it was to start here at midnight and nary a flake at 9 am! We are now down to a three inch expected snow. All that marketing hype and fffffffftttttttttt

    be careful with your shoulder
    hi cindy!

Cindy says hi back, Elisa. Already aching all over and that was just a narrow path. We still have another 10-to-20-inches yet to come, depending on what the storm does.

Cindy and I can normally handle our shoveling, with lots of breaks and spacing it out over time. But this snow is so deep, it’s a challenge getting it to the sides of the driveway, then tossing the snow over the pile already there.
