Baby snake — Central Maryland (March 2016)Sony RX1R II + Zeiss 2.0/35mm
Ohhh, ahhh, you gave me a fright!
I expect so, for a dormouse! 🙂
However, don’t worry; it was just a baby garter snake. Thinner than a pencil and too tiny to hurt a mouse of any kind. 🙂

Amazing image, the shallow DOF works miracles here
I’m glad that you like it.
Love this! Well done
Thank you, sir! I appreciate your comment.

Love this shot!!
Thank you, ma’am!
Just saw a relative along the path in the park a few days ago, where he (she?) just missed being run over by the ranger’s pickup truck. My shot isn’t nearly as good, though.
I was lucky; this one completely froze in place, so I was able to take a bunch of different shots before Cindy shooed it off so it wouldn’t be hurt by others behind us.
I hated snakes as a kid, but am perfectly fine with them now. Same with some — but not all! — spiders. 🙂
Superbly shot. love the lack of dof and just the head in focus, so much more powerful and interesting. Gorgeous.
Haha — I’m glad that you like it, Paula!
Oh bless! Love the DOF 😀 I’m hoping to go and visit a friend of mine to photograph the slow worms nesting in her garden!
Cool! I’d never heard of a slow worm, and was surprised to discover that they are actually lizards. My mom would’ve hated me bringing those home when I was a kid (I use to bring home horny toads and they’d get loose in the house: https://www.google.com/search?q=horny+toad&espv=2&biw=1500&bih=898&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjGvdzdpZ_MAhXnw4MKHfCQCdQQ_AUIBigB).
Yeah they’re amazing creatures 🙂 Lots of people still think they’re snakes! Now that’s a toad I would have been bringing home too 😀 How awesome is that!!!
Not so cool when they go scuttling through the house with an angry mom in hot pursuit. 😉
Pahahahaha 😉 I once tried bringing locusts home from Malta! I think I was about 9! I had put them in jars with holes punched into the lids. They didn’t make it through customs and my parents were suitably unimpressed with me. I was doing a science experiment of my own devising!
Cindy used to bring entire jars full of black widow spiders home to her family. That didn’t go over so well, either… 😉
Pahahahaha!!!!! Kudos to her from me 😀
Incredible depth of field. It feels like it is just about to pop out of my screen.
