I don’t know how many degrees above normal our region has been during this winter, but we normally don’t see daffodils at this stage of growth for another month and a half at least.

This shot was taken early yesterday morning. I saw the bloom heads the day before and knew I had to take a photo or face “pics, or it didn’t happen”. Our temps have been yo-yoing all over the place as well.

It’s cold enough that I haven’t been outside to check on our plants. I hope they will lie low for a while longer. The reason I asked about the year is that I thought I saw 2016. Maybe I looked at it wrong.

Ah — thank you for spotting that! I use an HTML text template to create my image captions, and I hadn’t changed it to 2017 there yet. Sorry for the confusion; I’ve updated the post with the correct date now.

Yep, already. We normally have freezing to sub-freezing temperatures during this time of year, so we’re gritting our teeth about what may happen to the local crops.

We’re really concerned about it, as it will likely affect all the local agriculture as well. And then everything will get frozen later this month or next with deep cold and/or snow storms.
