Fall Afternoon Drama

Gathering clouds over the Madison Range
Southwestern Montana (October 2016)
Zeiss Ikon ZM + Zeiss Biogon 21/4.5 ZM
Ilford Pan F Plus + T-MAX RS (stock) 4 minutes

I love wandering around and grabbing shots as they develop in front of my eyes; this was such an occasion, as Cindy and I were driving around and sightseeing.

It’s very much like that here in the DC area.

I nearly got taken out by a morning commuter several years ago when I slowed down to pull off and take a photo (this one: https://exploratorius.us/2014/12/21/sunrise-silhouette/); I don’t know if they were texting or daydreaming, but they definitely weren’t paying attention to the road and what was happening around them. I did so with plenty of room and proper signaling, but it still nearly resulted in an accident. I don’t stop like that anymore if there is traffic behind me; in this day of so much distracted driving, other drivers simply can’t be trusted to be alert.

Out west — where this was taken — there is no traffic. We were on this road for about an hour and saw just one other vehicle the entire time.
